Hi, we are looking for our company for a Network inventory tool, which can work clientless. We have a server park of about 100 servers, however, at the moment we are keeping track of them in an Excel file. This was a good idea when our server park cointained less than 20 servers, however at the moment, its not something we can maintain. our biggest part of our servers are SAP related, and our SAP team doesnt want any agents installed on their servers..... anybody with knowledge of a good Network inventory tool which works agentless?

Hi Karelken, in our company we are using a network inventory tool called Lansweeper, it does the trick well, normally it shouldnt be a problem for your environment, since we are using it for over 300 servers worldwide in 30 different subdomains (1 forrest with 30 domains). Clientless scanning was not a requirement for our company, however, lansweeper does clientless scanning by default, it triggers through WMI, so you wont need to install any software on your servers. We also use it for client scanning, so we have a nice overview of our used systems too and when to replace them (we use dell computers, and dell is one of the brands where lansweeper can automatically track your purchase dates for, so no more problems in identifying...

i believe they have a free trial available on their website, might be worth checking it out: http://www.lansweeper.com

sure, the first page of their website actually mentions it ;-) we use it to automatically clean up lansweeper (you can remove entries from lansweeper which werent detected in Active Directory

Quote: "Active directory integration Lansweeper gathers all active directory user and computer details for your scanned machines. Create reports based on OU, integrate user pictures, Clean up your Active directory"
