Alcohol isn't safe?

Hi is it safe to use 70% of isopropyl rubbing swab on my Sony wh 1000xm3, would it harm the cushion if I clean with it?

I would use the universal solvent, water. water tends to be harmless to most synthetics. alcohol depends on the material if it will leech chemicals or not. alcohol is not good for leather. hard plastics I would go crazy with the alcohol but the cushions may be porous and that will exacerbate any leeching which can lead to cracking and that is not comfy.

The ear pads are replaceable. If they're dirty, it may be easier just to replace them. They do rot after a few years and start to fall apart, so no point killing yourself trying to keep them clean.
