I have Alexa connected into a mini amplifier, which can also play USB sticks, it's only output is speaker left and right, can I patch them onto a phono cable and plug that into an auxiliary input on a separate hi-fi, then using that source to send it to the speakers or is the amp before the hi-fi input a bad idea?

Solution
If you connected a speaker to line level adapter to the speaker out of the mini amp then that could be connected to the HiFi.
It would be better if you connected Alexa directly to the Hifi. You could connect the mini amp with the adapter to the Hifi too for USB stick playback.
