So christmas is around the corner and i need a laptop

someone offered me alienware 17 r4 but im confused what to take

this one cost around 1950 usd with specs
i7 6820 hk
gtx 1070 8gb
32gb ddr4 ram
512 gb ssd + 1 tb hdd
4k ips monitor
gtx 1070

and this one cost around 1640 usd with specs

i7 7700hq
120gb SSD
1TB HDD
16gb DDR4 Ram
1080p
gtx1070

so my question : is 4k + extra 16gb ram and 500gb SSD worth 300bucks
is it normal for 4k to have a backlight bleeding bec. on this one it has backlight bleeding

https://imgur.com/a/HD7mV

or i should settle for 1080p and save 300bucks

or would you recommend another gaming 17 inches laptop

TIA guys

If you were to upgrade the 2nd one to have the same Ram and SSD it'd basically cost you like $300. So if you're wanting 4k, then $300 more isn't bad for what you're getting. That being said are you planning on gaming at 4k? Or doing any graphically intensive media work?

Also the 6820 and 7700 will preform similarly, but you can over clock the 6820 if you are into that type of thing.

Perhaps this http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/alienware-17r4-15r3-panel-light-bleed-issue-fix.798918/ can shed some light on the bleeding issue.

Also you'd be surprised I've seen the XPS 15 with Gtx 1050 play 4k games and offer a decent experience. I'm sure the 1070 with 8gb is good enough
