I have Panasonic SC-PT750/53 with only an RCA component style 3 plug input. My Hitense TV (87A51LUR) apparently (can’t se due to mounting) has an HDMI/ARC port. Will an HDMI to Component converter work to get the TV audio output to my surround system?

O do not remember getting a booklet. Perhaps I got a quick guide. The “system” on screen only says 58” Hisense Roku TV. I did see the input connections while searching the various on screen settings and there is an eARC plus two other HDMI inputs. The eARC on screen info says it will output to a sound bar when connected, but to the sound bar’s eARC port, so not sure the converter will work.

By that I mean the eARC from the tv if connected to a converter might not sent the signals through appropriately to the component inputs . If i plugged the TV’s eARC into the sound system ARC out port with an HDMI cable, the ARC out port might not receive. I know the tv’s eARC port receives because that is how I have been watching cable tv from the cable box. I changed that today to have the tv receive the cable tv signal via one of the other ports, freeing the eARC port. I am planning, in case I have to go from cable box to streaming, to see if the sound system will still work by getting the audio from the tv instead of a cable box. I could test but don’t want to make a connection that might damage the tv or the sound system.
