ALL of a sudden search key is NOT mapable on a HP chromebook WHY ???

The search key was the caps lock key..Now all of a sudden, its the search key and it will not respond to ANY of the changes in settings..

In the Chrome browser, type the following command- CTRL+ALT+SLASH. This opens up an overlay, showing what key combinations are available when holding down certain keys (e.g. Shift, Alt, etc.). In this menu, it should display what key combinations create Caps Lock- Click ALT-SEARCH to enable Caps Lock. If this doesn't work, this link should supply some useful information.
