Hi
I want help if someone could tell me if i can use Oculus Rift with my pc.
I am planning on ordering this very soon in amazon.co.uk, here's the link: Click here to go to link

My cpu is amd a10-5800k, i have 12gb ram ddr3 in my pc and i want to use it for VR with a EVGA gtx 1060 6gb vram,
Can i get playable fps on the Oculus Rift CV1 with these specs?
or should i overclock the cpu, to get to use it for VR?

Hope you can help me very soon, because the deal at amazon is about to end

The official minimum requirement is an FX-4350. Your A10-5800K uses the same CPU architecture and has 4 cores just like the 4350. It does lack the L3 cache though, and is clocked a little lower.

I would expect it to provide acceptable performance if you overclock it. Can't say for sure though.

The A10 is going to be a heavy bottleneck on that GTX 1060 6GB, and the oculus rift requires 90fps per eye, so your going to need to upgrade your CPU at the very least.

Even the GTX 1060 6GB isn't really up to par for VR, you'll have to play on lower quality settings to meet that 90fps mark.

yeah IMO the VERY MIN is a 1070. Min 1070 good 1080 what I have 1080 ti and it was worth it. Mind you I have a 3770k with a z77 chipset that with a 1080 ti is the bet VR i have tried. So much is the GPU

As I explained above, the CPU is flirting with the minimum requirements, and an OC will likely make it sufficient (barely). A GTX 1060 6GB is way above the minimum requirements and matches the recommended requirements. It's absolutely good enough for VR.
