I am thinking of buying an amp for running some audio components through, but i do not need the increased audio quality.

Is there a cheaper way of running through multiple components (speakers, sound bar, sub) rather than an amp?

The "components" you list are all speakers. So it sounds like you want one source to feed different speakers? If these are not self powered you would need an amplifier. Subs are usually self powered so that does not need an amp. Speakers and sound bars come both powered and passive. If they are all self powered then you can use an input selector switch like this:

in reverse to select which powered speaker receives signal. If you want the sub to run with more than one set of speakers then that is a bit more complicated.
If some are passive and some active then you may need the amp and a switch.

So rather than a source selector, i am after a replacement to an amp. I plan on running several components to my PC, but will need to run all the components through a headphone docking station (which acts as a pass-through). I need a unit that will allow me to run all the components through and carry the signal for all the components through a single input cable.

Sorry if this doesn't quite make sense, it's really hard to explain.

No sorry, i'm basically just looking for something to group several components and run as a single output into my PC.
