[citation][nom]hakesterman[/nom]This was a given, it wasn't a matter of if, but a matter of When. The PS3 is far superior to all theother consoles. If it doesn't play Bluray it's garbage, once you have Bluray you don't care about anything else. The Controller on the PS3 is hands down better too![/citation]

The PS3 is not superior at all. It has poorly designed hardware, and is basically the Sega Saturn 2. The PS3 controller is made for tiny asian girls. It is also poorly designed.

The real winner here is IBM, because whichever console you buy, you have IBM inside.

It doesn't matter how many PS3 consoles will ship over time. The fact is, year on year, PS3 is behind MS and Nintendo. 5 years down the road we might already have an Xbox 3 and a Wii 2. If Sony is still flogging the PS3 by then, it'll simply be just sad.

I guess all of the suckers developing games for the Wii are finally getting tired of Nintendo's policies. If a third party developer makes a software or hardware product for the Wii then if Nintendo likes the product it's their policy to create a cheap knockoff of the product and sue the original developer out of existence. Just like they did back in the day with Tetris when they sued Tengen (who invented Tetris for the NES) for illegally copying the Nintendo version. Or there's the whole issue with the Powerpad accessory that was mentioned in a previous article.

Were you born that way or you had the accident on the way?

Blue ray is the reason the PS3 has suffered as a console neither it has offered anything in gaming so far ( except huge ammounts of HD videos in FFXIII ). In gaming it only offers extra installations, longer loading times and so far nothing but worst graphically. What do you mean by once you go BR you dont go back? Do you stick it in it? You gotta stop watching American-pie like movies.

And PS3 controller is best by far? google which got awarded and which is the one that copied another in this gen consoles..

Being stupid is excused cause its not someone's choice but being an ignorant isnt easily tolerated in life. tc

To the guy who said that nintendo made no mistakes on the wii and have shown it? That statement is wrong.

Right when they first came out there were alot that had an error that effectively made them bricks. My brothers simply didn't work when he opened it christmas day. He literally had to RMA it back immediately. My friends had some kind of timed delay on it happening, but I could tell that it was going to happen because I saw all the warning signs. He didn't listen to me, and after a month or two it happened to him too and he had to get another one.

They've also had escapades about releasing new firmware that bricks consoles.

the xbox and ps3 has its stengths and weeknesses.

of course ps3 will out sell xboxs as its more future proofed when some one finally works how to get the best out of it.

3d ps3 games will come ( with glasses ) and xbox has natal..

xbox still sells 10 games to one ps3 over here in game and its success is down to how much money a company has made on it.

isnt the ds a console...

this is the total world wide killer console of everything.

pcs are the most sold gaming platforms. defacto.

i got a wii and a xbox, there is no need for a xbox and a ps3. not when the two consoles are on a par when it comes to games.

Consoles will be dead in five years, just like dedicated DVD players and stereos are now. No one will want to buy a separate device just to be able to play games while being locked in by a specific vendor and to a specific product cycle. The next generation of "consoles" will be HTPCs with strong graphics and console-like controllers, running Windows and being able to browse the web, play movies, record TV and of course play games. Game developers will save money by making games for only one platform and all home entertainment will be done by a tiny box next to the TV that'll functionally be just like your PC.

I don't agree entirely.

It really depends if Sony can manage to claw people away from Xbox Live. Fair play to Microsoft, they've managed to made Xbox Live into the cool place where all the kids (and adults) like to hang out, and Sony will be hard-pressed to steal a slab of this cake for a long while.

The actual hardware superiority of the PS3 is almost entirely offset by the difficulty in actually coding and debugging efficiently on the PS3 (speaking as a games developer).

In the long run? Perhaps the PS3 *will* edge into the lead, but I'd be worried if it didn't, to be perfectly honest. The PS3 came along a good few years after the 360 made its debut, and the hardware lifespan should reflect this.

As a BD player, I agree that the PS3 will win out, but as a game platform, I personally prefer the xbox360 and in the year I have owned my PS3, I have never played a game on it and probably never will. I'm sure that I'm not the only person using their PS3 for BD playback only and if that is the case, Sony won't be making any money out of people like me. How this helps them win the console war, I don't know.

Win, lose... who cares? You're going to buy what you want. What's with the need to declare winners and losers? Silly fanboys.

Besides, all of the current generation consoles are due for replacement. I'm not buying another Wii game until the Wii 2 comes out. Tough crap, Nintendo. That's the way it is.

[citation][nom]SneakySnake[/nom]Can't say I disagree.I'm an avid PC gamer, and only bought a PS3 for the exclusives and Blu-Ray, but it is quite the console. Anyone who hasn't played the MGS series needs to, it's hands down the best gaming I've ever done. Owning a 360 and a gaming PC doesn't make much sense, cuz pretty much the only game that the 360 has that the PC doesn't is Halo.[/citation]
Agreed, just picked up a PS3 yesterday and a copy of FF XIII. Used a HDMI cable (not sure about using the supplied RGB cable) and noticed FF XIII runs at 1080P for the cut scenes and during the actual game too.

Heavy Rain looks good for the PS3, (Exclusive)

"The quality of the depth of field we have, you can't do that on the Xbox."

Naughty Dog ALWAYS has something nasty to say about the competition whether its true or not. They are a 2nd party developer exclusive to Sony.

[citation][nom]willisbj[/nom]Agreed, the original (Fat) XBOX controller was one of, if not the worst controllers ever. The slim XBOX controller, and then the 360 controller, in my opinion simply blow the PS3 controller out of the water. The analogue sticks feel, response and placement on PS2/3 controllers were always the deal breaker for those consoles, never as accurate or comfortable as the XBOX counterparts (the slim ones).[/citation]
The original Xbox controllers were the best controllers ever made. Period! Not for 13 year olds or girls or that guy from the Burger King commercial (small hands), but for real MEN, with Man-hands.

Hahahah......you are so right about the PS3 controller. That made me laugh. Thank you!

BTW, I do believe the PS3 will eventually outsell the X360. Now that developers have mostly figured out its complex hardware, cross-platform games no longer look noticably inferior on PS3, and I'm having a hard time personally recommending the X360 to people.

I mean, look at this comparison (let me know if something is wrong here):

PS3:
+ One of the best BR movie players on the market, period, regardless of price
+ FREE online gaming network
+ Generally more reliable hardware (although Slim seems to be somewhat troublesome)
+ Integrated wireless
+/- Pretty much equal graphics-wise to X360 currently, previously games could look/run inferior on PS3.
+/- Cell THEORETICALLY much more powerful than X360 tri-core, whether or not programmers able to take advantage of this unclear.
- RSX generally considered to be slightly inferior graphics chip to Xenos.

X360

+ Games generally look either slightly better or equal to PS3
+/- Have to pay for online gaming, although XBLive superior.
- Wireless costs extra
- No BR capability
- RROD (mostly solved from what I understand)
- Possibility of future games looking/running inferior due to limitations of DVD size vs BR. (ex., the new Final Fantasy), as well as some games having to be programmed for the lowest X360 hardware (e.g. no Hard Drive in Arcade models)

Honestly, unless you are a HUGE Halo or GoW fan, I cant see recommending the X360 over the PS3 at equal price points. It just doesnt make any sense, IMHO.

I own all 3 systems and the PS3 get 90% of my console play time. IMHO the PS3 has the nicest features. My 360 hasn't even been turned on in 3 months. I'm on my 5th 360 and scared it going to go to, because the last time i played it was constant lock-ups. I'm not fanboy, I'm a gamer who like electronics that doesn't fail every 6 months.
