Android phone won't charge properly or turn on

My phone turns off whenever I put it to charge, and then appears not charged at all. I then turn it on, and it seems to be charging, but turns off again. I tried changing the charger, it helped for a very short time. I got a new battery which helped for a while too. Now it is happening again. The phone is a little old but I would rather not get a new one, is there anything to do or just get a new phone?

This happens to me as well. I leave it to charge over night and turn it off and then wake up on the morning to see if it's charged and I can't turn it on!! My dad just gets a new battery but apparently it's expensive this is the third time plzz help >:/
