[citation][nom]theranish[/nom]Well you have made correct and factual statetments in regards to Obamacare, yet you are leaving out a certain point in which I would consider it Socialist. This is the fact that EVERY citizen has to pay either a health insurance company or pay a "penalty" for not having any. The government does not have the right to enforce that upon the people a mandatory cost towards a service that they may or may not want. This was determined by the federal courts I believe within the last two weeks. Also under the law by 2014 new employees of a company will have to enroll into a health insurance exchange, so while people will have a choice until then, what will start to happen over time is that as new generations of citizens start to become old enough for employement and old citizens retire or pass a way, the conversion towards a single choice will become more and more obvious. Hoping this helps.[/citation]
Not that this has anything to do with Android, Andy Rubin or his bonus, but (and correct me if I'm wrong) don't Americans have to pay for services they may or may not want /use already?
You don't pay taxes on your property to pay for schools, police & fire? No kids, never had a fire or needed a cop? Still paying? Have a fit about paying?
Everyone who makes money above a certain amount pay federal & state (county & muni?) taxes to go towards a pension system, roads, national security (military). Have your own pension? Still have to pay some money to the gov't for a federal pension system? Live on a farm and never use an interstate highway? How much of your taxes pay for the national highways system repairs? Against a certain military conflict? Happy your paying for it?
No sin taxes on fuel, booze & smokes to subsidize the government's various projects? Lucky you.
I hate to point this out, but US of A is a socialist county. I'll give you that it's a small s compared to many others, but it's not a true free market. Not that any system actually works well since it's filled with humans who tend to be irrational (X is good if I benefit but it's bad if I don't).
