For all those commenters who think this country sucks so badly, you are welcome to leave and live somewhere else. You have the "freedom" to do that. You are also welcome to vote, run for public office yourself, or otherwise do something to make a difference. Hammer wallstreet, heah that will hurt the millionaires, they will just laugh in your face. Hack the banking industry, yeah so when some mother tries to buy milk for her baby but can't access her account, the industry won't care, you just gave them someone to blame for any problems. Anonymous! I call it "no balls" to show your face and try to make a real change!

I know what they're gonna do. They're going to hack the Guns n' Roses website with images of Vunter Slaush.

Source: I have none. I just made that up.

Wait... I get down-rated to hell because, being British, I KNOW that 5th of November (to us, anyway) isn't a holiday in any shape or form?

Haha damned trolls.

It's just a trolling few. Cause clearly if you don't think that's a holiday, you're an evil pig who places no value on human life.

The majority of them are Anonymous supporters anyway, hence the illogical downrating. I should be proud that this is the sort of thing that gets them riled up. :)

Trolling Toms is a worthy activity for anyone who wants to change the world.

[citation][nom]TheWhiteRose000[/nom]Ah but boxing day was a Holiday now it is just considered a commemorative event and joked about.November the 5th not many care about as a holiday but still they remember it in the EU area, all V for Vendetta was, was gain it global publicity not about the reason behind it but the idea behind it, you can kill a man but the idea is bullet proof.[/citation]

The idea for killing due to minor differences in religious belief / power struggles is certainly still alive - fortunately it's now somewhat less prevalent within Christianity.

The celebration is/was about the plot failing and/or a good chance to burn some Catholics. Conveniently taking over bonfire night from the pre-existing celebrations a bit at least

Well, after a crysis there is a war (historicly speaking) , this is just a new concept of war.
In my books, noone is doing it "right", but Annonymus is less "wrong".

I do not believe in people having the right to disguise themselves when protesting. It is easy to pick wholes in any system much harder to create a system. A lot of people that moan about systems do not offer solutions or would not be willing to take the place of the person in charge they are moaning about, if you don't like it have the balls to step in to the shoes of the person in charge you are moaning about or provide alternate solutions, not just rebel against a system because it is there.

Just in case any of you are confused about "Guy Fawkes Night," from the previously linked Wikipedia article: "Celebrating the fact that King James I had survived the attempt on his life" and "Observance of 5th November Act enforced an annual public day of thanksgiving for the plot's failure."

PS. DDOSing wall street on a Saturday... lol.

I assume they're doing this on Saturday because they have to goto school on the weekdays. Anon is a mindless ignorant mob whose emotions are easily manipulated by sensationalism and, ironically, the media. Anon, you are boring everyone to tears with the lack of intellectual depth you bring to the table. Please go back to 4chan, and please throw away your copies of Fight Club and V.

[citation][nom]kinggraves[/nom]Guy Fawkes was an actual person who made a significant real world difference, not a Disney character. That's why there's a holiday named after him, and not a holiday named after Ariel.[/citation]
Guy Fawkes failed in his gunpowder plot, and the holiday was actually to celebrate the fact that the plot failed 😛.

[citation][nom]TheWhiteRose000[/nom]We are a country that has no freedom of speech. We are a country that has no Value of Human life.We are a country ruled by people who think of us as pawn's who had to use a 166 year old law cause they are afraid of us.[/citation]
Dude, stop complaining and be thankful for what you have. Be glad you weren't born in Somalia. Those people have some real troubles.

I'm all for people speaking their mind, but perhaps it could be redirected towards something other than a nation where most people actually have it pretty good. Maybe taking over computers for a mass day of Folding@home? helping to fight Corrupt African governments carrying out genocide? or feeding people who badly need food. It's all good to fight for a cause... as long as it's a proper one.

So; it's now the 26th. I can't believe all the protests and all the web sites that were hacked and crashed over the weekend. Oh wait... it was like "Y2K"... a non-event.

.A commemoration isn't a holiday. Some people commemorate St. George's Day in the UK but it's not a holiday in the strict sense of having the day off work/school.
..
since when do we need to be given the a day off work or out of school to celebrate something that is important to us, my son just turned 13 and even though it wasnt a national holiday i still let him stay hom from school. just because you dont think it important doesnt meen others dont.
