As instructed by the sticky,

1. What is your budget?
I'm on a very tight budget. I'd say around 500$, 530 or so max.

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
Atleast 15.6'. It's OK if it's larger, but 15.6' is perfect. No smaller though.

3. What screen resolution do you want?
1366x768 or greater.

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Desktop replacement's fine, but I should be able to move it about. Portability scores about 3-4. . on 10

5. How much battery life do you need?
3 Hours sounds like A LOT of time. 4-5 hours in overkill.

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
Yes. I want to play games like Skyrim on medium. Older games like GTA:SA on high. Minecraft . shouldn't lag :p

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
Video editing/rendering and CPU intensive programming.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
500 GB should be more than enough.

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
None. I live in India, so it should support international shipping.

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
It should be future proof. Upgradable, if possible. Around 5 years minimum, not more than 10.

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
DVD writer's good. Bluray would be nice, but not mandatory.

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
None.

13. What country do you live in?
India. It should reach here somehow :p

14. Minimum graphics specs - 1.5 GB dedicated sounds good.

15. Please tell us any additional information if needed.
Here's where I get specific. I did mention a budget of 500 or so USD, but, that is just the base cost. The laptop should be hardware upgradable. I'll add on RAM and stuff later on. It'd be a boon if I could upgrade the GFX card n CPU, too. I'd think AMD processors (the APUs) are good, both low cost and high performance. Quad core's a nice to have as well, for the future-proofness.

16. OS: Windows 8! I need i windows PC, too :D
Thanks!
Vaishnav.

@Faizaan,
I've looked at both of them before.
I've been considering the Ideapad my best bet for some time now... but it's never available.
The G505s is waay ahead of budget.

Let's say my budget's around 33K INR..

Out of all of those, only the the HP Pav 15 has a decent GFX card.
I'd need that for more, *modern* games, to put it...

Can any of their processors/gfx cards be upgraded in the future? (I.E., are they soldered on?)
