"another iPhone shattered without warning"
i guess apple shoulg make iWarning app with the following message "your iPod/iPhone will self destruct in 3 seconds, don't say we didn't warn you!".
...or maybe the talibans joined with Apple hoping that an iPhone bomb would explode in a plane pilots pocket, making the plane crash and not look like a terrorism act :|

@Kingssman I am quite sure there have been more than the reported 6 incidents, especially looking at the papers Apple have sent to the ones who have been unlucky to experience such an event. The French, as many Europeans, won`t stand for such threaths and would rather have justice than a refund.

As a fair comparison we can see at the incidents of exploding cell phones in China, where there is more than 500 million cell-phone subscribers, which for the last 6 years just manages to match the reported explosion rate of the iPhone. I don`t want to do the math, but it does seem that the risk of an exploding iPhone is unreasonably high in comparison.

Only thing left for them to do is sell through itunes software to selfdestruct your iphone urself. Since its xplodecapable why not make somethign out of it? With timers and shit.. Also option to detonate with specific button sequence or simple button press. They should really do it.

[citation][nom]Kingssman[/nom]Lets see 1.5 million Iphones sold world wide, 3 blew up in Europe and 6 total so your iphone has a .00004% chance of explodingWell then, time to issue a recall I guess. In the mean time Apple suggests not to go outside in the rain for likely chance of being struck by lightning.[/citation]

THANK YOU. Finally someone takes it with a grain of salt and a little bit of god damned sense.

[citation][nom]back_by_demand[/nom]It is a little unfair to keep branding it the iGrenade as it doesn't really explode, it just sort of blows broken glass in the direction the screen is facing.Maybe the iClaymore would be more appropriate?[/citation]

absolutely hilarious.

Dispatcher: 911, whats your emergency?
Man: my iphone exploded into my eye!!
Dispatcher: the plan... its working....
Man: wait, what?!
Dispatcher: uhh, i mean sir we will have an ambulance there right away.

its voltage differences which screw with the battery.. how many monitors in the good old days would just explode? that warrant a full recall??

I could be wrong, but I just find it hard to believe that anything in the iPhone could cause the screen to blow out. That would take quite a bit of force.
