Does anyone know of any reason why I should not get National Cingular
service for mostly the New York/New Jersey metro area with frequent
trips into the New England states and to the Atlantic coast of Florida
while using a V400 phone?

Wrong question. You should be asking if anybody knows why you shouldn't
choose the V400. Try a Nokia 3120 or Nokia 6230 or (not sold anymore, but
get one off ebay) Nokia 3595 or Motorola T720 instead. For more
information, google V600 recall. Then know that the V400 and V600 are
virtually the same phone. -Dave

If they are virtually the same phone, with the same problem, I would
have expected the V400 to be recalled together with the V600. Why not?

Forgetting the particular phone, assuming the phone is fine, how is
service in the NY, NJ metro, CT, MA, Fl areas?

Any reason not to get Cingular?
