Anyone else finding Google Maps on iPhone to be a bit off at the minute?

A few times recently I've had big issues with the location accuracy on Google Maps app on iPhone. Normally, it's almost dead on accurate but often recently I've opened it and it'll pinpoint my location at a point about 30-50m away - so if I'm by a road, it'll have me in the middle of the field bordering the road, for example, and facing in a different direction. It means that when I get directions from Maps, it often starts to send me the wrong way.

My phone's up to date with all software etc. Anyone else had this problem or know what's causing it?

It does seem to be a bit off after update 12 and still off on 12.1 (iPhone 6). No idea what could be the cause, what service provider do you have? I'm on Verizon but it was slightly off when I went to Boston last night.

I forgot to specify - I'm in the UK! I'm on Tesco, which piggybacks the network of o2.
