Great article. Fair and honest. I own a PC for my home audio studio and use very powerful Mac Pros at work as a motion graphics artist. I've been on the verge of purchasing a MacBook Pro for my home studio for some time now but I really need something special for the money they're asking and I'm just not overly impressed at the moment. I'm ready and willing, I just need a little sugar from Apple... things like an eSata port, express card slot on the 15", blu ray drive, i5 or i7 processors etc

The article misses the point. PC vendors differentiate based on what the hardware inside is, because that's all there is to their offerings. The MacBook Pro's differentiate on how it's put together. The build quality is fantastic and solid, the engineering first rate, and overall, it's just nicer to use. Yes, you pay for this, and the pricing structure makes it better to buy on refresh, but to argue that they hide what's inside... just go to to the store, look at one, choose "About this Mac" - "More Info" for as much info as you'd ever want... or use the internet. Honestly, as a long time PC user who started using a Mac just recently because I finally tried one and found them, well, better (mostly on an OS and fit and finish level), this article seems like just bashing successful design... I for one prefer quality options that go a bit beyond the big-box generic level in laptops.

Ok, article tells us that apple selling old components under a new cover right?!)) BUT. What exact components are those?! There cores are brand new i7 i5 optionally you can get the Flash instead of Hard Driver and so on... Any way... Even those, there might be some older parts, but it should have the reasons!! Don't you think so!? WHY? Why does MACs are able to process so much more information than any of PCs?!! WHY??? Why MACs are able to run on battery for more than 7 Hours!??? Why Macs are so much better build??!!!! Why only MACs computers have magnetic charger(it's soooo useful!)
WHy?!! IS it because they use old components?!
MAY BE! But you know what! THAN, it works better than new components on PC do!!! THAT what's really important, isn't!?!!

this is a such a Bull - crap article!

EVEN A Photo of the crash isn't a photo of snow leopard! It's old tiger, which is like windows xp to windows 7! Feel the difference! I have my Snow leopard for a long time, I bought it right after it came out, and I haven't seen that "crash screen" at all! How ever I've seen it a lot on 10.4 (Tiger)

This Article doesn't really explain or show any thing. It shows the things which are not really exist or almost never happen! It more look like the counter attack from Windows on MAC OS X, and that's even funny for me, but sad that there are people who trust too much some times.

PS: I was a Windows user for over 7 years, but 4 years I left it alone for better thing, MAC. And guess what! I will never come back to crashy windows which does coast a lot, but doesn't pay you back properly.... By the way Snow Leopard is also cheaper than windows 7 or even vista!

Remember a movie in which Bill Murray chants, "It just doesn't matter, It just doesn't matter.." ? I may be off on the words, but nonetheless, it just doesn't matter.

Apple offers a line of modern technology no matter how you slice it. You can pick out the negative parts of Apple, but as an Apple user and an ex Windows user, no matter what Apples flaws, Windows in this day has nothing on a Mac!

My LCD was damaged (my fault) and I had to use Windows 7 on a Toshiba. The experience felt like going back 20 years and it only made me miss my MBP much more and made the experience of losing my MBP feel like I lost a part of me. And I did.

I was unfortunate enough to buy a overpriced top of the line Mac Book Pro in early 2010. So far the hard drive has gone, the power supply has gone and the DVD drive has gone. Today I took it to the shop for yet more repairs but have decided that if it is hardware related I will put a vid on youtube shooting the the piece of crap under the heading what to do with a mac. Bottom line - Mac sucks!!!!

Ah good news to my previous post re "Bottom line - Mac sucks!!" As an update, the piece of craps sleep mode hardware has gone to crap so all they had to do was to rip a wire out that disabled the hardware that controls this and now no sleep mode which is better than a piece of crap that doesn't go at all. Hmmmm, wonder what will go next????
