apple using Seagates??? I wish my friend...
I only ever found the cheapest hitachis and maxtors in macbooks and imacs...

I have tried recoveries on these drives, they are all Seagate drives. The heads crash and scrape the inner part of the drive platter(s) Seagate and Apple have known of this issue for awhile now.

Yeah, but when Microsoft offered to fix peoples Xbox's for free, even out of warranty, people still bitched about that. =)
By the way, Microsoft fixed my out of warranty Xbox for free, gave me one month of gold time, and even paid the shipping both ways.

When a major issue arises, it's a companies responsibility to take action on their failures. Glad to see they're doing it (granted, quite late).

They are...ST9120822AS in particular on the one I worked on.
