I have been offered a used Apple Macbook Pro 13" (Mid 2012) "non-retina" for $1150 NZD which is approximately $760 USD.

Specs:

  • 2.5GHz Dual-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz
    16GB (2x8GB) Kit 1600Mhz SODIMM
256GB Crucial m4 Solid State Drive
    OS X Yosemite
Current battery cycle: 239 cycles. 94% of max capacity. According to coconutbattery app.

There is a tiny dent on the top but I don't care to be honest. :p

I've been looking for a good light laptop to use for university/college as I am studying Computer Science. I was wondering if this was worth it or should I get the cheaper Lenovo E450?

Oh and my budget is around $1000 NZD so please don't suggest the newer or better options out there, unless they are around that price.

Thanks :)

I personally would go with the lenovo as you will be creating things for windows and not mac. But I don't know how well mac handles windows when running bootcamp or parallels though.

This assumes you haven't already bought the laptop.
