Isn't this what Nintendo already did with the New 3DS? Can Apple patent a tech that is already available in consumer products on the market? Will Apple now sue Nintendo for having released a product that Apple would later patent?

Nintendo isn't the only one who's done this already. But yeah, like typical Apple, they'll take someone else's idea and try to patent and call it their own. Then watch them try and scream bloody murder that 'they stole it' when more similar items come out.

Oh, its a mix of 2d and 3d images - so that's a new concept so it can be patented. Wait, Id like to patent a mix of 2d, 3d, AND 2.5d images.

I agree with FlayerSlayer, now that Apple has patented this, they'll sue Nintendo since this technology is already available on the "new" 3DSi... Same way they sued the estate of Alexander Graham Bell, since everyone knows... Apple invented the telephone also.

Yeah, just like Apple 'thinks' they invented the computer, the laptop, a tablet, a gui, a mp3 player, linux/bsd, the watch, etc, etc. There's a reason why so many people hate the company; and the Apple fanboys are gullible enough to think they actually did.
