Hm. Is it not a felony to view child pornography? I wonder how many people were checking out this application and accidentally committed a felony by viewing and "grading" a nude minor. I also have to wonder how underage girls managed to become naked, have their pictures taken, and have them posted to a site that "rates" them. I believe that itself would also constitute as a felony.

Lawsuit has probably already been filed.

"My Child was exposed to child porn and Apple is responsible for it because I can't monitor the fact that my child downloaded an app for hot women!"

[citation][nom]doomtomb[/nom]Nobody cares about Apple and their apps. Why does this make news.[/citation]

Some days news is slow so Tom's Hardware writers think they can report junk.

[citation][nom]maigo[/nom]That's not child porn. Age of consent is like 15 in a lot of states[/citation]

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

1. Age of consent means you are of capacity to consent to sexual activity, it has nothing to do with child pornography. You are still a child in the United States if you are under the age of 18. That is why you have to click "Yes, I am 18" before you enter adult sites.

2. There are exactly zero states in the United States where the age to consent to sexual intercourse is 15 years old. The lowest age in the US is 16.

Actually age of consent is 15 in several states but only if their partner is less than 4 years different in age. It's MUCH lower in other countries (12 in Spain for instance).

More importantly it's not child porn just because they are nude. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_pornography
Child pornography refers to images or films depicting sexually explicit activities involving a child.

What about your 6 month old baby pictures taking a bath? that's pretty hardcore stuff.

15,16,18 yrs old? do you know what kids are already doing by those ages? a nude picture is the least concern of them all.

Its not quite the site's fault... those girls CHOOSE to upload nude pictures of themselves. And when parents or someone who KNOWS them found out - they called somebody and said "underage".

So its MOSTLY the kids fault for doing stupid stuff like that. And then other people get in trouble for it.

Actually the last time i checked pornography does not need to depict sexually explicit activities.. a pic of a naked woman is considered pornography. Once it is created to incite sexual arousal, it's considered porn.

"A good definition using this approach is from The Encyclopedia of Ethics, and defines pornography as "the sexually explicit depiction of persons, in words or images, created with the primary, proximate aim, and reasonable hope, of eliciting significant sexual arousal on the part of the consumer of such materials."

A next definition: "creative activity (writing or pictures or films etc.) of no literary or artistic value other than to stimulate sexual desire" Princeton word net definition

I doubt those underage girls whose pics were put up are part of the art modeling class!

1. No. There is not a single state in the United States where the age of consent is 15. Not one.

2. That is very dumb. If you go by your definition or pornography then the Playboy magazine does not contain any pornographic material. Just women naked. 15 year olds naked = child pornography.

The above ^ line was created by me. I created it with the intent to incite sexual arousal. Therefore it is pornography. You do not have to agree. Apparently, since I created it, and I can confirm that I created it with the intent to incite sexual arousal, it is pornography.

To take it further, the line above is of a 12 year old subject. Therefore it is child pornography, since the subject is under-age and depicting sexual arousal. Take another look at the first line - there you go, you are now participating in a felony. Enjoy.

I think you're wrong. Sure the girls chose to upload them but posting nude or semi-nude images of underage girls is against the law. Those girls submitted their photos, with their ages included and the developer approved them. That is wrong, in my opinion.
