Apple TV connected to plasma receiver and Yamaha av receiver

How can i hook up an Apple TV to a pioneer plasma tv and Yamaha av receiver and get both audio and video? Right now i can only get one or the other .

Apple TV to receiver with HDMI. Receiver to TV with HDMI
Apple TV to TV with HDMI. TV to receiver with digital audio (optical usually).
Other options that might work would be to use an HDMI input selector with audio extraction.
