Asus G73JH Screen Problems

Today I used my laptop in the afternoon and it worked fine, then shut it down like I usually do. Later in the evening I started it up and my screen was half white, half rainbow like in the picture. I didn't move it nor did I touch it between when it worked and when it didn't. The only thing that changed was the screen/lid was opened and closed when I finished with it.

I replaced the battery and unplugged it and restarted it and all the usual easy fixes, but to no avail. I haven't yet taken it apart because it is late and its not a project I wanted to get in to if I didn't have to.


Any idea's what the problem may be?

Could be just broken wires from the mobo to the screen. This usually means getting a new screen fitted. Take it in for service/repair. With luck it might be just a loose connector.
