ok, I'll try to make this as concise as possible

I found a desktop at a thrift shop in working condition:
CPU: i3 2120 3.3Ghz with intel 2000 graphics
RAM: 6Gb ddr3 1333
MOTHERBOARD: Acer ipisb-vr rev 1.01
PSU: 300W
HDD: 1Tb WD Blue 7200rpm Sata III (mobo is sata II 3gb/s)

I am running Linux MInt 17.3 currently

I just bought an Asus GT-430 1Gb gpu because it was $30. Will using this gpu be better than the intel 2000 graphics on this rig? I would like to be able to play some games like Counterstrike GO but I'm not expecting to play anything on high settings. with the intell 2000 graphics i can't play CS GO even on the lower end of fps.

Will the Asus GT-430 be better than intel 2000 graphics?
Will I be able to play some steam games with decent settings?

Solution
The GT 430 smokes the HD 2000 by far:

Even though they don't show HD 2000 on the chart, the HD 2500 is almost identical to the HD 2000 IGPU.

You should be able to play steam games no problem, the GT 430 is no slouch.

Thanks for finding that chart. I looked around and couldn't find anything that would give me a straight answer. I'm looking forward to getting it installed!
