Asus laptop black screen

I have a Asus laptop. A few days ago the screen started to go black after turning on, I tried restarting it but once it loaded it went black again. The battery is internal so i cant take it out. I dont see a reset button or hole as mentioned in other post's, I do have a small hole in the cd drive but I dont think thats it. I also have a power issue, laptop wont work unless connected to power cord.
Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

connect to an external monitor even borrowed to see if does same on it as maybe laptop screen issue.

Opened up ASUS e402m after this same problem. The screws from the hinge had come undone and dislodged the screen power supply from the circuit board. Returned everything to correct position and now works properly.
