ASUS laptop doesn't work without plugged charger

it's been 2 years since I bought this laptop and it's been a year since it stopped working without charger. I don't know what happened. Do I need to replace the battery?? but it's not been a long time tho. ugh!!!

If it was sitting out in hot weather and consistantly drained to 0%, then yeah the battery is dead.

New batteries typically aren't too expensive, but they can be hard to find.
