Asus laptop stuck in logo menu, help

My asus laptop was working fine, but I didn't use it for anything but downloading movies and watching them. A couple of weeks ago we got a new router. We set it up it worked perfectly but the laptop didn't recognize it, it didn't even detect it. Now some time passes I have been using a ethernet cable and a couple of days ago it started being weird. Now it can't get past the logo screen. Please I'm not a tech person I don't know what to do. I tried getting into the boot menu but it didn't work it just said on the top left corner ''boot menu loading''... Help.

You were downloading movies... Maybe you ended up with a virus?

It sounds like your hard drive might be defective if the laptop can't even load the BIOS setup.

soo how do i fix it, sir? Or should i take it to a store so they check it out? Is there a way i can fix it myself I am not a tech person so i dont know ;( thanks for the help.
