asus laptop stuck restarting

Was restarting my asus laptop because program was not responding and now all I see is blue screen saying "getting windows ready - don't turn off your computer"

After 30min tried to turn it off to see if it would hard restart - but no go and when turned back on getting same screen and nothing happening...

Please help?

Try just holding down on the power switch for maybe 5 secs or more. This 'SHOULD' force a shutdown but at least you should get a clean start up. I can't guarantee that your laptop will restart properly because that depends on what caused the problem in the first place...
