Question ASUS Laptop Vivobook 17 Model X1704Za SO-DIMM RAM upgrade max size

I have got ASUS Laptop Vivobook 17 Model X1704Za has soldered RAM 8GB

And has on slot for SO-DIMM RAM what is the maximum size I can buy ?

Official website says upgradable can be only 8GB,,,,,, which is an authentic source for info

Does that mean if I use upgradable 16GB means total will be 24GB with soldered one won't show in the system because of the limitation ?

According to Crucial, you can add up to a 32GB SO-DIMM. That would max you at 40GB.

Your total memory will be the 8GB you have now, plus however much you install.

On my another Vivobook, the specs say the maximum is 12 GB, but I actually installed 16 GB alongside the soldered RAM, and the system recognizes it all.
