Hello, I am in desperate need of help. I have an ASUS g750jw ROG with Windows 8 preinstalled on it. It's been working fine but once in awhile, when I'd start it up, the ROG symbol would appear as usual and then the screen would just go black and I'd have to hold the power button down and restart it for it to work. Recently, it's gotten worse. Now, my computer will randomly freeze up or the screen will randomly go black and it doesn't appear that any specific action causes this to happen. It's frozen while playing a game and while just browsing the web (google chrome) the same for the black screening.

Today I am at my wit's end.

Now, upon start up, one of multiple scenarios will occur: the laptop will turn on but the screen will remain off, completely unlit and my only option is to turn it off by holding the power button. Another scenario is the laptop will display the ROG symbol on start up which is normal and then the screen will go black and then the screen will simply turn off. Another is after displaying the ROG symbol it will enter windows advanced startup and through that I've tried to system restore, automatic repair, and simply continue to the desktop/launch in safe mode. The safe mode launch has worked but all the others restart the laptop and then scenario number one will occur. The next scenario that occurs is that the laptop starts up, allows me to log in, makes it to the windows start menu, and then freezes completely. Another is the laptop will startup and work normally as it is doing currently. I haven't tried it enough to be certain, but I think the only way I can get it to fully startup and to stay working is if it is unplugged from the adapter. I'm not sure, though. I'm asking for any type of input as to what could be wrong with my laptop. I started it in BIOS and reset it to BIOS default and that did nothing for me. I took the battery out, held the power button, and it did not have any effect. I truly don't understand what the problem is or how to even go about fixing it. I'm too nervous to do anything for fear that I'll simply cause it to freeze again.

Updating this: I just plugged in my laptop and so far nothing has gone wrong. (knock on wood)

Updating again: After plugging it in, it black screened within a matter of seconds. It also did not startup while plugged in but once I unplugged it, it worked. I have no idea.
