Asus message dvd burner is installed

Hello,
i keep getting messages saying my dvd burner is not installed when i have used itin the past, now it wont work and this mesage kees appearing..help.

Go into device manager and into the DVD section. It will be labeled ASUS DVD something... Right click on the drive and select uninstall. Then reboot your computer. Windows should search for the driver and reinstall it.

This is not a guaranteed fix, but it works much of the time. Sometimes drivers get lost in the shuffle.

This assumes of course that the drive is even visible in device manager. If not then we have a different problem.
