ASUS ROG STRIX GL503VD not performing as expected

I just got this laptop last month and so far I doesn't reach my expectation
it has:

Intel Core i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80Ghz (8 CPUs) ----- Intel HD Graphics 630
16gb RAM
GTX 1050 4gb (notebook)

and i expected this launching apps fast or without a noticeable stutter
even just opening File Explore it will take ~5 seconds to open compared to my i5 pc which doesn't even take a second to open and normal apps (i mean not games) I don't have complains about the games' fps. I mainly complain how the Intel core i7-7700HQ / Hard Drive on my laptop performs

Can i do anything to make things faster?

If the only issue is things opening slower, you probably have a slower hard drive in the laptop.

Not necessarily a slower HD.

Have you updated all drivers to newest per Asus' website?
We performed a test with an Asus Strix a few months ago to see the difference between brand new straight from the store and after it had been fully updated. The difference is incredibly noticeable. And I mean like your scenario noticeable. That and boot time was about 33% of non-updated (32 seconds to 10, no SSD).
