Hello guys! I just got myself an Asus TUF FX505GM-MES182T about a week ago and i'm experiencing shockingly high temperatures peaks from HWmonitor when gaming in CS go & Dota2 on overboost mode (worser in balanced mode) ~ in game settings are default @ high settings.

CPU temps go as high as 99c~ while GPU reaches 94c.

Is this normal or is there something faulty with my machine? I sent it back to the shop i got it from and they said it is normal.... BUT judging from the reviews online, shouldn't the FX505 versions be alot cooler than the FX504 ones? Especially when the heat sink and fans have been updated?

Laptop Main Specs:
*i7 8750H
*1060 6gb
*8GB 2666MHZ Ram
*128 SSD

Could you please try coretemp and MSI afterbunrer too?

Try the Intel driver and nvidia driver as well. Which BIOS version is currently on it? 302 would be the up to date one.

Install the latest drivers manually, don´t use the ASUS updater.

run 3dmark basic edition , click on compare result online after that and post the address from your upcoming browser

If this is your temperature, it´s clearly to high and you should return it.

Do you use the latest HW info? Try coretemp and MSI afterbunrer too.

update the BIOS of your laptop within BIOS, not windows

Did you install any OC software like ASUS rog center? uninstall these tools

Do you use the GPU driver from ASUS or nvidia.com? Recommended would be the ASUS GPU driver

I'm using the latest hw monitor from CPUID, Bios updated to the latest for this particular model.
No OC softwares like ROG Center and the likes.
Using GPU driver from My ASUS updates.

Asus support service told me to:
Reinstall the games
Factory Reset
Both of which i did BUT don't really make any sense as Game settings were default and the drivers as well.

If there's anyone else out there with the FX505GM versions, can you kindly share your temps?
I need to compare with your temps and show the store that something is wrong with mine.
My unit is hitting 97-99c (CPU) and 94c (GPU) playing CSgo and Dota2.
