MSI... I have an Asus G73jhA1... biggest mistake I did in my life. That thing was a lemon. I did 4 RMA which were painful and frustrating. They refuse to change the GPU even after numerous pictures and videos.

I honestly believe I thrown 2000$ in the toilets. Now I am staying far from Asus. After this and the two 4870 top that were overheating in CF due to bad design, I honestly believe Asus engineering department should be fired!

I read reviews and they said it can get up to 90c and the fans are only on the left, so the left is super hot, while the right is cool.

Yeah but I don't want to buy a $1200 laptop then buy a cooling pad.

What about the cooling, here are reviews on amazon.

Most gaming laptops generate an unnatural amount of heat so a cooling pad is almost to be expected. There are some gaming laptops that DON'T generate as much heat, but the graphic cards are much less powerful.

My advice would be DON'T buy an MSI laptop.

I bought a GX660R when it was brand new out and top of the range and it blew up after two and a half years. So I took it to a repair shop and the tech told me the motherboard had blown and that he couldn't get a replacement from MSI. His advise was to just trash the laptop.

Obviously I was bemused being as it was only 2.5 years old and a high spec. So I contacted MSI and they refused to sell me a motherboard, stating that they had limited stocks and they were keeping them for customers who's laptops were still under warranty!

I literally could not find a motherboard for sale online for it either. So in short, unless you perpetually pay for a warranty you'll be left out in the cold when it comes to parts for an MSI laptop. And MSI don't make many extra motherboards and GPUs for their laptops either.

Sorry to hear that about your laptop :(
