How can I find a driver that will improve the graphics beyond 1024x768?

Changing the driver won't change your resolution..
Changing the GPU will.

Sorry, but you can't just change the "driver" for better graphics, you need a new laptop or desktop. That laptop is relatively low end and won't be able to max out today's games, might not even be able to play at Med settings.
