ASUS X550C - can you replace a touch screen with a non touch one?

Hello. I've searched and found people who want to upgrade to a touch screen, but I have a client with a dropped ASUS who wants a non-touchscreen replacement. Can it be done with the X550C?

As long as the replacement physically fits and uses the same cable connection - which is probably going to be an LVDS 40 pin video cable - then it should be okay. I don't have anything definitive on compatibility though. Unless someone here can confirm compatibility, you may be looking at some trial and error (if you're feeling adventurous, that is).
