ASUS X551M Keyboard Stopped Working

I have an ASUS X551M. The computer wouldn't power on so I followed a YouTube repair that fixed the power on button, but now the keyboard does not work. I removed the internal battery and then put it back in. Also reset the power button. I put the laptop back together and it powers on, the touch pad works, but I can't use any key on the keyboard. Any thoughts?

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help in solving the issue.
- Start by connecting an external USB keyboard and see if it will work.
- If it does work, you may need to open the laptop and check the ribbon cable that connects the keyboard to the motherboard.
- Unplug/plug it in the see if it will work or not.
- If all these will not work the problem would be the keyboard itself and replacing it would be the solution.
