I was wondering if there is a noticable difference (frame drops) if I used an ATA 100 Motherboard with an ATA 133 Harddrive vs an ATA 133 Motherboard with an ATA 133 Harddrive?
Also, if I purchased the ATA 100 motherboard and bought an ATA 133 I/O controller card, would it work just as well as the motherboard with ATA 133?

Thank you for your time,

Scogel

ATA133 is just a maketing gimmick by Maxtor. No hard drive can reach the theoretical maximum transfer rate of 133 MB/s (no even close to 100MB/s). So there is no noticeable difference in performance between ATA133 and ATA100.

The ATA133 controller card would work fine on your mobo.

Thank you for your reply. I guess it would be overkill at the present time to get the I/O card. Have a great weekend.

Thanks again,
