Ati hd6950 unlock?

Can you still unlock the hd6950's to 6970 speeds? or was that when they first came out only?

Some are, some aren't being successful now. There does seem to be steps taken to prevent it, but you can try these set of instructions if you wish to try: http/www.tomshardware.com/forum/316974-33-radeon-6950-shader-unlock-instructions#t2368661

The last post I made, linked to another site where people found away around the locked bios, but it does seem a bit risky.
