I have a Samsung led tv which I have aerial connected to it. I am trying to connect the tv audio to my Pioneer vsx 819h. I tried to connect directly via fiber optic but did not manage. I also connected the Audio via phones but it did not work either
The best connection to use is the TV optical audio output. After you have made the connection you will need to set it up in the TV and receiver.
Go to the TV audio menu. Turn on the optical output. You may have to turn off the TV speakers to get it to work. Set the TV to output in surround sound.
Go to the receiver input set up menu and select optical for the input name you want to assign the optical jack that you connected the TV. Set the default surround to Dolby Digital to start. You can always change this later if there is a reason.
You can find the receiver manual here http/www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Home/AV-Receivers/Pioneer+Receivers/VSX-819H-K
