Question Audio Issues Using HDMI Splitter

I have two Samsung Smart TVs connected via a two-way HDMI splitter. If I turn off the splitter (e.g. when I go on holiday), when I turn it back on again TV 2 has no sound. I can fix this by turning the splitter off again, leave only TV 2 connected, then turn it back on again before re-connecting TV 1. My problem is that although both TVs then have picture and sound, the sound on TV 1 is now slightly out of sync and no audio delay settings on either my Sonos Playbar or my TV can correct it.
It's even more frustrating because everything used to work fine and now it doesn't - does anyone have any thoughts?
