Audio mixer device

Hello,
My laptop Toshiba Satellite U300 series lacks audio devices and audio mixer devices thus no sound can be heard.What can I do to correct the problem

Check in device manager and see if the audio device has its drivers installed and that you have no yellow plings against any device. If this is OK then go to the control panel select "sound" and make sure that the option to display sound icon is selected.
