Audio stopped working

I have an 05 mustang with stock speakers and aftermarket touchscreen radio. My radio stops working after I turn it up past 5. What could be the issue?

I assume that the same thing happens when you play anything through the headunit not just the radio.
Could be a bad speaker or bad speaker wire. Either could cause the headunit amp to shut down. You can try disconnecting one speaker at a time to troubleshoot the problem.
