Audio/ Video problem

I have a pair of powered EV speakers. I have an Epson projector with no audio outs. A samsung Blu ray with HDMI outputs and a digital audio ports, only the two. I hooked up HDMI from Blu Ray to Epson projector= Picture looks great audio comes out of projector. I want to send Audio to my EV powered speakers input which is a basically headphone/aux port. i connect ipod to speakers that way and works great. do I need to get rid of HDMI? or can I plug in a dig audio out with an adapter to back of EV port?
I hooked up an old dvd player with the red/yellow/white chord. video to projector and red/white to my aux chord in the back. it works. just pic quality is poor of course not as sharp as HDMI

There are two ways you can do this.
1. Connect a DAC like this one to the BD players digital audio out.

2. Use an HDMI selector with audio extraction like this one

The second solution is better if you want to connect any other sources.
