Hi all

So someone told me recently that Avast can activate malware in your browser. I have been using avast for a while and I never heard of it before. Is this true?

Solution
not to worry. it's fine.if anything, this feature will be in avast paid version.
The secure connection scanning can be troublesome in some AV suites, sometimes I have to disable it.
But you won't even have that feature on the free version.

maybe what you heard is that many anti-virus suites, including some of the top brands, inject a digital certificate into secure connections, so they can scan the connection and verify that you are actually getting to the banking site you want.
There is some debate about this practice, because it can actually break the certificate chain. But at the present time, better with than without. It is an accepted practice in security software.
