Sorry to repost, but I can't figure out where my original went.

I have a 'new' (very old) Gateway 4535GZ that I'm configuring. I have the appropriate driver for the wifi card, but what it asks for to connect is bizarre to me.

Typically I just type in my wifi password from a prompt when I click an access point from a list...

But this thing is asking me for all sorts of information I've never heard of.

Is there a way to set this software for quick-non-IT connect mode or something? Or can you direct me to a manual that will explain what to enter for idiots?

Thanks!

Solution
Typically you just select your network name and enter the password. Once it verifies those credentials, you should be good to go.

How are you connecting to the WiFi (which version of Windows and where are you navigating to when you start this process)? It sounds like you are attempting to set up a network rather than connect to one listed.

Are you using Intel ProSet for conneting? (I use that program in an old Toshiba Satellite A105 with intel wifi card) You should create first a profile, but it should prompt you when selecting an available wifi network.
