So while i was in bed charging my laptop it hit the corner where the laptop charging port is, and pretty much when I picked it up it wasnt charging anymore, i wiggled the charger and the charging port was able to move and wiggle soon i hit the sweet spot and began charging again, a few weeks later it stopped charging, So now it no longer charges and the laptop shuts down when theres no power or just random. I looked at the battery icon and it says "No battery detected". However the battery is fine and looks good to me, so is it the battery or the charging port? if so do I resolder the charging port? or do I buy a new battery?

I have the HP Pavillion dv7 1016nr

Any help is appreciated

Sounds to me like the charging port solders busted off the motherboard. Very common problem but a very frigging annoying one. If possible, first reinstall your battery drivers and restart your system to see if the problem still persists. If it does, then it is more than likely the solders have been broken off and you'll need to replace it.
