I was phoned by someone saying they were from the technical department of my broadband supplier. I foolishly let them enter my computer (Acer Aspire 5732Z). When I realised it was a scam call and disconnected it, they retaliated by blocking access to the computer. I now get a box saying I nee this to to enter startup password. Of course I do not have this. How can I bypass this start up the laptop?

Hi

Is this message from Windows or BIOS?

what version of Windows do you have?

If a BIOS password has been set you would need help from Acer or a Acer dealer.

Unfortunately we are not allowed to tell you how to bypass security systems even if you have been hacked as you could be in possesion of a stolen laptop

Once the laptop has been sorted out you should reset your broadband modem router, make sure you change the password and disable remote access. (to stop your system geting hacked again)

Talk to real broadband support department as you may need to re enter the broadband account settings if you reset the modem router
