I had this motorola v360 for more than 6 years now! It served me godamn well but now is getting just too old... I never even had to change the battery and although I was VERY careful with it, I obviously dropped it a few times in all these years so it's getting a bit buggish lately.
I would put a 100$ card every year, and had a "payasyougo" night&we plans 1¢, along with 30 sms for a mere 8.36$/month. I would not use it during day but that is ok as I just wanted it to call my friends (which I never do during week days).

The phone cost me 120$ back then.
That is pretty kickass bang for your buck imo!

But times goes, and I need a new phone but would really like something similarly inexpensive.
I am planning on getting something that will enable me to surf the internet, use facebook and sms and stuffs like that... nothing hardcore. Gonna get something around 30$/month for 30 sms, 500mb data, and pretty much no calling tho...

I have 230$ gift card at futureshop, so I guess I would like something around that price, if possible.
Needs to be able to connect to WIFI.

I was told about HTC windfire and galaxy ace but dunno anything much bout smart phones...

I dunno if I am forgetting anything, tell me if I do!
THanks in advance

You might want to look into VirginMobile. They have no contract phone with monthly plans from $35 to $55 all of them have unlimited texting and data plan (I think after a certain limit, the speed is reduced). $35 gets you 300 minutes. Cellphones basically ranges between $80 - $300. I'm looking at switching next year when my current contract expires.

There's also MetroPCs, but their plans starts at $40 I think.

And there's Boost Mobile, however, they don't really have a choice in plans; they really only have Unlimited Plans. Android phone requires a $55 per month unlimited plan. However, plan drops down $5 every 6 month until you reach the lowest plan cost of $40 per month. Not really ideal for you if you are not going to make many phone calls.
