Try the Sony Alpha NEX-3N. It is cheaper and more compact then any of those listed above.

I guess I see all the listed camera's as falling directly into the "inexpensive point and shoot" category not the bridge category. True bridge cameras would be more like the Nikon J1, Sony NEX-5N and their ilk.

With a list price of ~$2800, I'd much rather just buy a 800D and learn the features over time.
